SEE. FEEL. CREATE
Hi, my name is Cristina Stanciu and I am wedding photographer based in Montreal, Canada. I am an adventurer, explorer, artist & a cat lover. I have a deep passion for walking the world and facing new horizons. My feet are always itching and my wanderlust took me from Romania, my home country to my second home, Canada. Backpacking through South America, Central America, and Europe had a huge influence on my visual creativity but it was my grandfather who first amazed me with his camera (which, by the way I still have). He showed me how to distinguish the light, the shadows, and emotions......
I have a bachelor degree in Agricultural Engineering & Eco-Management, two slightly crazy cats, Puffy & Mia and a wonderful life partner, Christophe. Together we live in an upper duplex apartment overlooking the ruelles of an Italian neighbourhood in Montreal.
What inspires me ...
Inspiration is everywhere — from the words of my favorite writer to the blooms and leaves on my morning walk. I find inspiration in the everyday. I am fascinated by relationships of all types–happy ones, complicated ones, unusual ones. I’m inspired by risk. Starting something I have no idea how to finish, witnessing people go for something new - gets my heart and creativity pumping. One of the key components of inspiration is love. When you are actively pouring love into what you are doing, it will guarantee that you are opening yourself to experiencing more inspiration.
GENUINE. HUMBLE. SINCERE
Born and raised in Montreal, I always had a great yearning to travel. I remember my parents packing us all up in the van at 3AM and driving for what seemed to be days, all to meet up with our aunts, uncles and cousins at the beach. I remember the emotions, the buildup & the excitement of the road trip, that first scent of the ocean, walking the board walk, the sights and sounds. Fast-forward 30 years and countless trips from East Asia to Northern and Sothern Europe that sense of discovery hasn't left me yet. Now the question is not where have I been but where do I go from here.
To quote the great Lewis Hine “If I could tell the story in words, I wouldn’t need to lug around a camera.”
